Pops of Color

Christian Dior Spring 2011 Handbags I would die if I got my hands on one of these handbags. They are so adorable. They practically scream fun! I love wearing simple outfits and pairing them with statement pieces (i.e. rings, necklaces, shoes, and handbags). All of these Dior purses would be superb statement pieces, and add color to a simple look.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2011

Who Knew Heels Could Be So Magical?
Leave it the Alexander McQueen brand to design heels that look like they belong in an art museum. Sarah Burton is making McQueen proud.

Erdem Spring 2011 RTW

Erdem is becoming one of my absolute favorite designers. I still remember the day when I saw his Spring 2010 RTW collection. The dresses, colors, and use of floral was amazing. I love the femininity of his looks and the intrigue and cheerfulness of them. Don't get me wrong, I love rocking menswear, leather jackets, and serpent rings, but sometimes I think we need more designers who are willing to let women look graceful, delicate, and feminine. Being a confident women does not have to mean looking tough, but rather loving yourself and not being afraid to stand out.

Simple & Chic

Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2011
I'm absolutely in love with Jason Wu's Pre-Fall 2011 collection. It is very much in line with the type of designs and colors I like to wear. Below are some of my favorites from the collection.
The first one is a simple shift dress. I love the nude/light pinkish peach color. The detailing around the color adds some interest to a rather plain dress.
The tights add a contrast, and give the dress a more business casual look. It is also a very versatile look. All you need to do to dress it down for brunch at a chic cafe, is to loose the tights, and put on some cute flats. To dress it up, all you need is a clutch and some fierce heels.
The second look is also very simple, but completely sexy. I also really love the new trend right now to wear ankle socks under your heels. I have yet to try it, but I think I might just go by some nice & bright socks to wear under mine.
The third look is my favorite. I'm absolutely in love with those trouser pants. The fit is amazing, and I love how it comes up higher on the waist. The cropped jacket it also very chic. I love how it looks like a cut-off pea coat. Its a great pre-fall jacket. The striped blouse underneath adds some interest to the otherwise plain outfit, and the bright red handbag adds a nice pop of color.

In Love With Fall

I'm a born and raised Florida girl, but my heart is beginning to have a change. . . I think I might just be in love with fall!!! A couple of weeks ago, I went to New York City to visit the college I will be attending next year in the fall (I'm a senior this year!) My mom and I took a stroll through Brooklyn Heights, and were in awe of all the leaves that graced the stair steps of the apartments. It looked like a scene from The Cosby Show to me. Walking through central park was also breath taking. Living in Florida, I don't see colorful trees to often. I'm used to green all year long. Seeing red, orange, and yellow leaves was amazing, and I can't wait till I get to live in New York City next year. Below are some photos I took, and some fall 2010 rtw photos from style.com. If you have any ideas for me of what to buy to wear during the cold months next year, and still stay stylish and chic, let me know. I've never had to buy a whole wardrobe for winter wear before. I'm excited!!!

The Pixie Cut

I came across this photo of the cover of the December issue of the UK Vogue. I was delightedly surprised to see the Harry Potter star, Emma Watson, boasting a new chic look, the pixie cut. I am a huge fan of short and daring hairstyles. I myself have a short bob. At the moment it is a little past my chin, but usually it is shorter. I am in love, to say the least, with Watson's pixie cut. It is chic, daring, pretty, and feminine, which is ironic it being commonly referred as a man's cut. I love that women are becoming more bold with their looks. What is feminine and beautiful is changing. Just as pants used to be soely menswear and have evolved into women's, so are other types of clothing, styles, and now hair. Obviously the pixie cut and boasting uber short hair is nothing new, but more women are braving the sizsors and going for the short, edgy, yet pretty, pixie cut.

Absolutely Beautiful

Nanette Lepore

Nanette Lepore has done it again. I'm obsessed with three of the pieces from her spring 2011 rtw collection. The first is a sheer, floor length dress. I love the effortless way it falls on the body and the bold, bright print. The second one is a sheer striped shirt underneath a white skirt with built in overalls. This is something I would definitely wear. Thirdly, the sparkly orange dress is so fun and flirty. Love, love, love this collection.
